Medical Micro Needling

Medical Micro needling is a safe skin renewal technique to restore the healthy and youthful appearance of your skin with minimal or zero downtime.

To obtain the child-like appearance, we use an electric skin needling device that was especially made for this treatment. The device looks similar to a pen with 12 very fine needles. It is used to break down old scar tissue and stimulate new skin cells to generate, resulting in new tissue layers of elastin and collagen fibers being formed and new capillaries for improved blood supply.

Some conditions that can be treated are mild to moderate acne scarring, old and new scars; fine lines and wrinkles; loose, lax skin; skin texture and pore size; and stretch marks.

The procedure beings with placing numbing cream on clean skin to lessen discomfort. To achieve the best results, we use collagen-stimulating products like Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C serum or skin lightener for pigmentation throughout the procedure. The pen device, with sterile disposable needles, is used to pierce the skin. The needling pen’s speed and needle depth can be adjusted to allow needles to pierce the skin’s layer at 90 degree angles and increase the absorption of the products. The treatment is concluded with a soothing Vitamin C serum or Hyaluronic acid to hydrate, heal and protect the skin.

Patients should expect to experience redness and mild swelling 24-48 hours after the procedure. There may be minimal pin-point bleeding and/or bruising. The swelling reaction of the skin normally lasts a few hours, with redness lasting up to 48 hours. To reduce the visible discoloration, we recommend using Hyaluronic acid after the procedure, and to use zinc based sunblock. We also recommend using mineral makeup after the procedure.

A week or two following, the skin will look smoother and more radiant. The full effects will be visible about a month later.

There are many of benefits of Medical Micro-Needling! It stimulates circulation and encourages collagen production. The use of medical grade titanium needles makes it a non-allergenic procedure for the human skin. It dramatically increases the effectiveness and penetration of active ingredients in topical preparation. Compared to other resurfacing procedures, it is cost effective. It can also be performed on all skin types and all skin colors. Lastly, it can be used on all areas of the scalp, face and body including fragile skin like around the eyes, mouth and neck.

Some of the effects of the procedure include improving skin texture and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. It encourages tissue regeneration. It also disfigures scars- this especially works with acne scars because the new collagen fibers elevate the depressed scar tissue with the outer-edge skin. It reduces pore size and improves the appearance of stretch marks.

To achieve desired results, the procedure can be repeated every 4-6 weeks. We recommend to start with 3 treatments for collagen induction with a minimum of 4-6 weeks in between treatments. For scar reduction, 3-6 treatments are recommended. The number of treatments varies for each patient depending on how their skin responds to the treatment and the extent of damage of the skin.

There is little risk of post-op infections since the prickling channels close within one hour and the procedure is done under clinical conditions.

To ensure the proper healing environment for your skin, we recommend avoiding AHA’s (glycolic Acid), retinol, acidic or “active” ingredients. Zinc based sunscreen should also be used.

There have been no negative side effects recorded in over 150,000 procedures completed worldwide.

There is a minimal risk of pigmentation change or post inflammatory hyper-pigmentation. This procedure can treat sensitive and fragile areas that are difficult to treat with other procedures.

This procedure is not recommended for patients who:
